Respira Labs seeks FDA clearance for its wearable lung monitor

Respira Labs, a company based in Mountain View, California, has designed a device capable of assessing lung function for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COVID-19 and asthma. It uses acoustic technology to monitor lung air volume, providing a comprehensive overview of a patient’s condition.
Sylvee, the wearable device, is able to detect air trapping, an early symptom of respiratory decline, with more than 90% accuracy. As CEO and founder Dr. MarĂa Artunduaga explains, this technology can be life-saving for millions of people affected by COPD, COVID-19 and asthma in the U.S.
