Latina-Led Respira Labs Raises $2.8 Million to Revolutionize Respiratory Care for COPD, COVID-19 and Asthma Patients

Respira Labs stands out among U.S. Latinx startups as it continues to raise funding and grants for the development of a wearable device that monitors lung function through acoustic resonance, a cutting edge technology that promises to enhance respiratory patients’ lives.
MarĂa Artunduaga, Colombian-born founder and CEO of Respira Labs, explains that the potential of her company lies in the possibility of early detection and treatment for patients living with COPD, asthma and COVID-19 related diseases, which reduce life-threatening hospitalizations.
In addition to the funding, the Mount View based company was selected to participate in the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) accelerator program sponsored by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).
